Enjoy quality RO filtered water at your dispenser. Properly specified for extremely difficult well water of known quality with very heavy sediment, particulate water and/or high total dissolved solids, the RU500T35 w/BP w/UV is a five-stage undercounter reverse osmosis system designed to filter the water at your sink of choice. The integrated booster pump is necessary to deliver the minimum of 40 psi over the membrane in order for the unit to be effective. Three stages to protect and filter prior to the TFC membrane serves to remove suspended matter, dirt, rust and sediment and improves performance of other filters. The GAC postfilter removes chlorine and other volatile organic compounds, improving taste, clarity and odor. The TFC membrane removes inorganics, minerals, total dissolved solids, lead and cysts (giardia and cryptosporidium). The additional UV module protects against bacterial, viral, E-coli, and other microorganisms and is tested 99% effective*. This unit produces up to 35 gallons per day and includes a 3.2 gallon storage tank.
• Safeguards and kills bacterial, viral, E-coli, and other microorganisms • Improves Taste, Clarity and Odors • Removes Chlorine and VOCs • Reduces Total Dissolved Solids, Minerals and Inorganics • Reduces Lead and Cysts (Cryptosporidium and Giardia) • Reduces Dirt, Silt, Sediment and Rust • Replaces Costly Bottled Water • Replaces the Limited Applications of Faucet Attachments and Water Filter Pitchers • Quality Filtered Water for Drinking and Cooking *Meets or complies with NSF Standard 42, 58 and 55. EWS RO filtration protects you and your family. • Drinking and cooking • Installs easily at any sink, wet bar or any point of use location • Can be cross-connected (if applicable) to refrigerators, ice makers and other appliances** • Units come with chrome, lead-free faucet (other faucet finish options available) • Powder coated and corrosion resistant • Bracket mounts easily onto a wall or inside a cabinet • Quick-connect fittings for easy installation • 10" heavy duty housings to protect filter integrity • Units comes with full sized, full bed depth filters for optimum performance and longer life • Replacing filters once a year is easy with the included spanner wrench (simply spin housing off, replace filter, spin housing back on) **Reverse Osmosis may void the warranty on other product and/or appliances that are cross-connected. Please consult with manufacturer of other product. Other device connection issues, information on aggressive water produced by reverse osmosis, proper application and more information on these systems are available in this site, Q&A, or with EWS customer service.
EWS offers upgrade options for more specific concerns and preferences. • For other filtration at the point of entry, please see well water product options
All completely assembled reverse osmosis systems include the following standard features: White 10" housing with filtration cartridges, spanner wrench to open housings for easy filter replacement, easy to use membrane housing, chrome, lead-free faucet with white trim (with air gap adaptor) for dispensing water, self-piercing saddle valve for water line connection with shut-off valve (see service guide for your correct application), all necessary tubing (color coded) to make proper connections, simple to use mounting bracket, UV lamp and setup (UV unit only),pump (booster pump units only), drain saddle and bladder tank, complete service guide with installation and use instructions. All units are upgraded to produce more water and waste less. All units include a 3.2 gallon storage tank and we incorporate our RSR control valve which monitors flow and operates as a check valve/backflow prevention and an automatic shut-off to protect the system.
Proper Application: Reverse Osmosis on Difficult Well Water Water. Make sure your well water is completely and independently tested and that a reverse osmosis system is right for you and your application. Unlike most municipally treated water supplies, well water may have contaminents not normally found in "city" water and therefore reverse osmosis may be applicable*.
If you are considering this unit on municipal water than you are over specifying the product. Two (2) of the filters in this unit exist to protect the RO membrane from adverse water conditions and are not there to protect you. A wrong application you will get more filters and not better filtration...!
For most applications and for most people the UU250 drinking water filtration system is an excellent compliment to most city tap water or municipally-treated water systems. The EWS or CWL Series of whole home central water filtration systems are the best option for the entire home and for all uses. However, due to aggressive marketing, reverse osmosis may be a familiar term but is generally misunderstood as a filtration product.
Reverse Osmosis (RO) are a more aggressive form of filtration where water is pushed through a membrane to reject inorganic contaminents as well as naturally found calcium and magnesium minerals. The items that these systems reject are highly regulated through your municipal treated water and therefore the RO may be missapplied in many instances.
On municipal water, If you like a more stripped down or flatter tasting water this system may be for you. If you need the fluoride that is added to some municipal water removed due to allergic reactions this system may be for you.
RO is the way to remove the salts that softeners put in. Please be aware RO systems have been heavily marketed by softener salespeople and the industry and associations that support door-to-door sales. Ironically, the common reason for filtration is to improve taste and odor and yet without the carbon filters the RO system would not provide this expectation or the quality of this form of filtration. Considering RO systems waste water in order to produce water and they take up more valuable storage space and cost more to maintain it is our goal to provide information in order for you to choose the right system for you.
The most common reverse osmosis system applied correctly in this five stage category is the RU500T35 w/BP that incorporates an integrated booster pump in order for the system to reject contaminents at the specified rejection rates.** For other filtration at the point of entry, please see well water product options and for whole-home applications, if applicable, see EWS or CWL Series. *Based on local water conditions and usage. Well water needs to completely and independently tested and submitted to EWS for proper product specification.
**Booster Pump: CDP 6000 (Optional for either unit; specify unit w/BP) The booster pump is used with a reverse osmosis system to boost inlet water pressure over the membrane to 40 PSI. The unique design features of the pump provide superior performance characteristics to deliver a near constant “boost” pressure to the RO membrane in low inlet water pressure applications or extreme conditions that effect pressure over the membrane.
Booster pumps enhance RO systems in the following ways: • Monitoring performance • Improving membrane efficiency • Conserving water • Conserving power • Shutting down the pump when continuous product water is not necessary
Booster pumps P6000 are recommended in reverse osmosis applications where feedwater pressure is less than 40 PSI. Feedwater high in Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) may need a boost, in order to perform within rejection parameters.
FACT: Over 500 mg/l or ppm TDS, the PSI will be reduced by 1 PSI for every 100 TDS.
For Example; Feedwater that is 2,000 mg/l of TDS will reduce PSI by 15. A booster pump will compensate to allow for proper application. On well-water, know your water pressure (PSI) and your TDS.
